Disability and accessibility are key elements within the university’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (“DEI”) strategic framework. The charge of the Student IDEA (“Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility”) Board was, broadly, to assess the current state and capacity of the university’s infrastructure to support and include students who are, or may be, impacted by barriers within the university and/or the University culture regarding disability and accessibility. This analysis drew from the 2016 and 2018 University Audits report on Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) Processes at the University, the DEI Climate surveys conducted by the university, the experiences and expertise of Board members, and other resources identified by the Board.
